Come, let me share something unusual with you, that I found myself liking. A gel cleanser that does not lather yet cleans well without drying and works too as a mask. Intrigued?

Introducing the Kuan Yuan Lian Loofah Essence Hydrating Cleanser available at Pattybelle (no longer in business). When I first received it, I thought it was a tube of aloe vera gel. It certainly looks and smells that way.

The problem with the label is that it is mostly in Chinese so if you can’t read Chinese, there is nothing to tell you what this item is or how to use it. Pattybelle has translated it into English on her site but essentially, here’s how I use the Kuan Yuan Lian Loofah Essence cleanser:-

To my surprise, I rather liked this gel cleanser. I was a bit of a sceptic initially. The gel goes on your skin and cools it down a treat if you leave it on a little while. There is a slight tingling feel around my lips but its not unpleasant and it is otherwise very mild.

I do find the fragrance rather strong. If it was lighter or had no fragrance at all, I think it would be preferable. Still, I experienced no problems with this cleanser and I like how my skin feels after using it. Clean and moisturized and cool.

This cleansing gel is supposed to be made from loofah extract – yes the very same loofah fruit you take into the shower with you. The Loofah is supposed to have moisturizing effects and has deep cleansing properties.

Ingredients: Distilled water, Glycerine, Loofah Extract, Camomile, Extract Carboner 940, Triethanolamine Methyl, Paraben Fragrance.

A 150ml bottle retails for RM28 at Pattybelle and Sasa.com the product is from Taiwan. Here’s the link to the Kuan Yuan Lian site for those who can read Chinese.

Pros: Affordable, Mild cleansing, Cooling and moisturizing on the skin

Cons: Label has no directions in English, opening is too large – there should be a stopper

Have you heard of Kuan Yuan Lian products before? From online noise, it appears that this brand is very well received in Taiwan.

Paris B

Come, let me share something unusual with you, that I found myself liking.
