Saturday again Ladies!

Here are a couple of some new beauty bits spotted out and about, with some quick thoughts on those I have tried (or even those I haven’t because… why! I’m versatile that way! 😛 ) If you have tried any one of the products listed and want to contribute your 2 cents, please feel free to do so in the comments 😀

New to the Maybelline stables is the liquid eyeliner pen – Hypersharp eyeliner. Offering a very fine flexible nib and waterproof formula, this eyeliner pen is supposed to make it super easy to line one’s eyes. I haven’t reviewed it, but my favourite liquid liner pen is the Smashbox Liquid Eyeliner Pen. Very awesome for drawing a nice dark line that does not budge all day. I’m keen to see how this fares by comparison. You’ll know once I do!

Maybelline Hypersharp Eyeliner pen retails at RM23.90 at all Maybelline counters

I’m no fan of Hello Kitty but if you are, Crabtree & Evelyn have teamed up with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty for a range of exclusive Hello Kitty x Crabtree & Evelyn bags available as gifts with purchase between 15 June – 17 July 2011. The minimum purchase of RM250 will get you a Hello Kitty Cosmetic bag. To get the Rosewater x Hello Kitty bag (pictured right) minimum spend is RM450 and to get the large Iris x Hello Kitty bags (pictured left) minimum spend is RM1,000. Ouchies! Strictly for fans only I guess.

When I was in my drugstore skincare brand phase, I used to use the L’Oreal Revitalift White cream and serum. It was introduced to me by a friend who liked it, and I went through at least 3 tubs of cream and 2 bottles of serum before I started getting fickle. It worked well for me and I was quite happy with it although it never quite did anything for my spots. It worked well enough on my skin though and it was easy on the pocket. The day cream now comes in a pump form, which I am more partial to, because its easy to use, and more hygienic. Strangely enough, it also costs more. Go figure!

L’Oreal Revitalift White Day Cream (Tub) RM39.90/50ml and (pump) RM42.90/50ml

I’d seen this one for a while actually. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer sunscreens with Helioplex. It now comes in 2 colours – Even Skin Tone (skin tinted) and Anti-Dullness (purple tint). I’m never a fan of the skin tinted sunscreens because many of them are too dark for me. However, I have used anti-dullness sunscreens before, and the slight purple tint can help brighten your skin. Don’t believe me? Try it and see! 😉

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion with Helioplex SPF50+ PA+++ in Even Skin Tone and Anti-Dullness retail for RM49.90/30ml at all major pharmacies

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion with Helioplex SPF50+ PA+++ in Even Skin Tone and Anti-Dullness retail for RM49.90/30ml at all major pharmacies

Vichy Normaderm Nuit retails at RM49/30ml

I used to be a big Canmake fan. Then the collection shrank to almost nothing in the local Watson’s and I never quite understood why. Many people did not like their eyeshadows, finding them too light and shimmery but I liked it. Had nearly every single Canmake Eyeshadow Trio released! Don’t have them anymore though 😛 But lately, I’ve been playing around with Canmake again (picked up the cream blush!) and I also spotted the very pretty looking Cheek & Cheek blush duos. Sasa stores have quite a good range and I believe Watson’s stores are also looking promising again. I was quite taken by these blush duos. They felt silky to the tough and the colours were soft and pretty. I haven’t picked up any because I’d picked up other stuff, but I plan to soon.

Canmake Cheek & Cheek blush duos retail at RM43.90 each at Watson’s (I think) and Sasa stores

If you have tried any one above, do share what you think of them. Or perhaps you are a Hello Kitty fan and would love to get your hands on the Crabtree & Evelyn collection? Its limited edition you know. Ah those 2 magic words 😛

I’m having a very busy day today oy! Friends coming over so I have to scrub-a-dub-dub! No fun!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Paris B

Saturday again Ladies! Vichy Normaderm now has a night cream. The tube looks similar to the normal Vichy Normaderm creams, except the whole tube include the cover is a dark green. The cream too has a light green tint. I was handed a sachet sample at a Monorail station recently (which was how I knew it existed) and I’ve been trying a small sample tube for a few nights. Personally I find it a little drying but it might be because I don’t have oily skin nor am I fighting serious pimples or stubborn spots. I actually think the regular one in a white tube works just as well if not better for me for clearing up mild spots.
